July's issue of Planet Laundry magazine features the article,
"Vend Pricing 101," written by Dan Bowe Speed Queen's North
American Sales Manager. In the article, Bowe advises laundry store
owners to evaluate their vended laundry pricing strategies. The
main factors to examine when considering a price increase are store
revenue, store quality and the competitive landscape. If the owner
decides to increase prices, then a marketing plan must be executed
to communicate the change. Bowe helps answer the question for store
owners - to raise or not to raise.
"If a laundry owner needs to adjust vend prices because of the
cost of natural gas, he or she should explain it to the customers,"
writes Bowe, "leaving no doubt in their minds why they are spending
more money for each wash and/or dry."
