The September issue of Planet Laundry features the article,
"Marketing a Rural Location," authored by Scott and Penny Williams,
Speed Queen store owners. The Williams are the owners of Speedy
Wash N' Go in Belmont, N.H. and are experts on how to market a
laundromat in a small, tourist town. In the article, they share
with other laundromat owners the tactics they used to increase
traffic to their store, which is filled with large-capacity
washer-extractors.
"Your marketing budget doesn't have to be extravagant to get the
job done right," says Scott Williams. "In a rural market, it boils
down to reaching your immediate demographic and from there,
expanding into new territories to promote growth."
